A foundation recognized as being of public utility, created by decree in 1887 at the initiative of Louis Pasteur, the Institut Pasteur is today an internationally renowned biomedical research center. To carry out its mission dedicated to the fight against diseases, in France and around the world, the Institut Pasteur develops its activities across four fields: research, public health, training, and the development of research applications. A globally recognized leader in the field of infectious diseases, microbiology, and immunology, the Institut Pasteur is dedicated to studying the biology of living systems. Its work focuses on emerging infectious diseases, antimicrobial resistance, certain types of cancer, neurodegenerative diseases, and disorders related to brain connectivity.

To strengthen the excellence of its research, the Institut Pasteur possesses and develops a very high-level technological environment, such as in nano-imaging or computational biology and artificial intelligence. Since its creation, 10 researchers working within the Institut Pasteur have received the Nobel Prize in Medicine, the most recent in 2008, in recognition of their 1983 discovery of the human immunodeficiency virus (HIV), responsible for AIDS. The Institut Pasteur is a member of the Pasteur Network, a global network of 33 institutions on five continents, united by shared Pasteurian values and contributing to the improvement of human health. Since July 1, 2021, the Institut Pasteur has been a partner research organization of Université Paris Cité.

The Institut Pasteur has undertaken a complete overhaul of its internal digital signage system and its space management processes. The organization was looking for a reliable, scalable solution supported by highly responsive assistance.

It was in this context that Pasteur selected Telelogos, convinced by the quality of human support and the robustness of its software. Today, two Telelogos solutions are deployed at the heart of the facilities: Media4Display (digital signage) and Meeting4Display (meeting room reservation).

Media4Display: Digital Signage Supporting Scientific Communication

38 screens now equip the various buildings across multiple Institut Pasteur sites. Organized into four groups, each serves a specific objective:

1. Institutional communication in communal areas – broadcasting key messages and highlighting internal achievements

Within the Institut Pasteur, the screens installed in communal spaces play a central role in internal communication. They help efficiently relay institutional messages, strategic updates, and projects led by the teams. These displays promote cohesion and a sense of belonging by showcasing collective accomplishments, scientific progress, and internal initiatives. Digital signage thus contributes to strengthening the corporate culture, streamlining the circulation of information, and maintaining constant connection between the Institute’s various communities.

2. Event communication in the conference center – supporting more than 100 events each year

The Institut Pasteur’s conference center hosts more than 100 events each year, ranging from scientific symposia to internal seminars. The screens play a key role in welcoming and guiding participants while enhancing the Institute’s image. Fully customizable, the displayed content adapts to each event: program display, dynamic wayfinding, highlighting speakers, or broadcasting institutional messages. This setup provides flexibility and responsiveness to organizing teams, while ensuring a smooth and professional experience for visitors.

3. Educational communication in the training center – an essential channel for informing and motivating future researchers

In the Institut Pasteur’s training center, digital signage is a privileged communication channel for students and young researchers. The screens display real-time practical information, scientific updates, safety reminders, and more. Digital signage supports the Institute’s educational mission: it fosters engagement, stimulates scientific curiosity, and strengthens the sense of belonging to a community of excellence. By digitizing message dissemination, digital signage contributes to creating a lively, connected, and motivating learning environment.

4. Multisource communication – a responsive system for all internal departments

Pasteur has implemented a multisource communication system designed to quickly distribute information from multiple departments: HR, general services, IT, etc. This mode of display offers the flexibility and responsiveness required by these different departments to manage their communications independently, with the ability to update content in real time depending on the context or specific building.

14 screens using this system are spread across 12 buildings, each capable of displaying a specific combination of content:

  • Some sequences are shared across the entire site (institutional messages, alerts, general information).
  • Others are specific to a building (for example, scientific communication related to the thematic research unit hosted there, or safety messages broadcast by technical services).

This conditional logic allows the Institut Pasteur to optimize each digital signage display while maintaining an overall coherence in internal communication. In practice, each screen becomes a useful and contextualized information channel, easily managed from a single interface.

By combining these four components, the Institut Pasteur ensures coherent and responsive internal communication. Digital signage highlights accomplishments, strengthens team engagement, and facilitates coordination between departments, creating a dynamic and motivating work environment.

With Media4Display, publishing content has become incredibly easy:

« We publish media in three clicks! A communication can be displayed in less than ten minutes. »

The IT department also trained local teams (scientific, technical, administrative) in decentralized and controlled management. The result: autonomy, responsiveness, and time savings for every communication action.

On the technical side, the solution stands out for its stability, flexibility, and reliability: robust infrastructure, smooth integration, and intuitive use for all user profiles.

Hardware Partner

Philips (PPDS)  provided a combination of E-Paper displays for static information zones (maps, instructions) and low-power QE-Line displays for dynamic content distribution (presentations, institutional videos, internal communication).

Meeting4Display: Connected Meeting Rooms and Simplified Booking

Faced with a previous solution deemed too limited, Pasteur chose Meeting4Display to streamline the reservation and management of its meeting rooms.

Tablets (Philips) installed at the entrance of meeting spaces offer instant visibility of availability and allow on-the-spot booking, a feature highly appreciated by employees.

Native synchronization with Outlook makes scheduling easier and prevents double bookings, while the Room Service feature enhances coordination between teams and general services and/or IT.

« Meeting4Display has simplified our employees’ daily lives. It offers real fluidity and efficiency every day. »

The Power of the Duo: When Digital Signage and Room Management Complement Each Other

Although Pasteur had not initially planned to combine both solutions, the successful experience with Media4Display opened the door to a more integrated vision.

Today, the Institut clearly perceives the value of the Media4Display & Meeting4Display pairing:

  • Homogeneous and coherent communication across all site screens, whether dedicated to information display or room booking.
  • A smooth employee experience, where users find the same logic and interfaces whether consulting a welcome screen, a meeting room, or a shared space.
  • Interconnection between systems, enabling room management and content broadcasting to communicate with each other, supporting a unified, scalable, and fully utilized infrastructure.
  • Centralized administration, with unified supervision of resources, screens, and reservations, simplifying multisite operation and maintenance.

« The Media4Display and Meeting4Display combo allows us not to restrict ourselves. Every possibility is open. »

Franck Fromet, Audiovisual Manager, Institut Pasteur

This synergy perfectly reflects the Institut Pasteur’s approach: combining innovation and reliability by leveraging complementary solutions to enable smarter communication and an ever more agile work environment.

An Exemplary Human and Technological Partnership

Beyond the technologies, the relationship with the Telelogos teams also made a key difference.

Each support ticket receives a callback within 15 minutes—a rare level of responsiveness praised by Franck Fromet.

Post-implementation support proved to be a strategic investment, ensuring both the sustainability of the solutions, service quality, and genuine autonomy in their use.
